Instructions

One thing that has been rolling around in my head is that having your projects ending up in the front page can lead to serious problems. Let me explain. Nowadays, Scratch is filled with tons of immature users that just can't appreciate how hard people have worked on a project and just get straight to saying something that does not relate with the topic of the project. Sure, some simple misunderstanding from some users is acceptable, but they can also resort to advertising and possible hate comments that don't have any reasonable claims as to why the project is "bad". Scratch was made to inspire people (mostly children) of making their imagination come true with the world of coding, but everyone just wants to take it a different way rather than letting Scratch be what it wants to be. And one of it's other issues is the front page. To put it my way, it's like opening a store on Black Friday not realizing that your store is about to get demolished by a mob of shoppers that really want what they want after all this time. The same thing can kind of be said here. Once your project shows up on the front page, there's already a mob of users waiting on the front door ready to view it and do whatever they want. From potential advertising to unreasonable hate, it can be a big bother if you just a person wanting to get some safe support. To prepare for this incident, one method of survival to take once this happens is to TURN OFF COMMENTING, EVEN WHEN THE COMMENTS SPREAD TOWARDS OTHER THINGS. That way, you'll be completely safe from thinking about getting bashed on by users that want to comment down... well... stuff. If you're a brave enough person though, you can just leave it on and watch as you laugh behind the screen at hate comments for how unreasonable they are and why they shouldn't be a bother. Or you can leave them alone just so that the Scratch Team can (possibly) take care of them. To summarize, if you're a person on this community who wants to be popular in the safest way possible, do NOT let your projects go on the front page. Especially when most of the people on this website nowadays don't understand what they're doing.
