Description

Estimates by me may differ from official reports - Typhoon Hagibis is the costliest typhoon on record, costing 15 billion dollars. The storm started off in the open pacific and rapidly intensified to a very powerful category 5. After that, the storm briefly weakened to a category 4 before maintaining category 5 intensity for nearly 3 days. Hagibis moved north and weakened, although its wind field expanded greatly. After that, a much weaker but massive Hagibis struck Japan, brining typhoon-force winds to much of the mainland. The storm then became extratropical, and although it did make headlines after that, the remnant circulation persisted for over another week The storm caused widespread damage across Japan, and as a result, the storm became the costliest typhoon on record, beating Fitow of 2013. - Tags: #Scratchmaster295 #TropicalCyclone #Hurricane #Typhoon #Meteorology #TyphoonHagibis #Hagibis #Japan #Weather #Animations
