Day 3: The whole day was a blur of activities. All though it wasn’t time for camp to OFFICIALLY begin, the counselors kept us busy. At breakfast, they explained to us some activities that we could sign up for to entertain ourselves, so of course, I signed up for ALL of them. In fact, a lot of people signed up. The groups we were divided into each consisted of two cabins. Unfortunately, that meant WE had to hang out with the adventure cabin. If you didn’t know, that’s our enemy... I was honestly cool with them. Some of the kids were new like me, and didn’t even care we were enemies. But a lot DID care. Even the counselors, though respectful, were shooting each other glances in a, “I’m gonna get you.” kind of way. The head counselor of the adventure cabin, Zura, lead the way to the first activity. Alba followed behind us. I asked her why. “Oh, we don’t want any fights breaking out.” “FIGHTS?!” “Oh, don’t worry about it though. It’s just.. some people are a little competitive...” She stared at Zura. “I guess I am too.” She said, still staring at Zura. “Now, run along with your cabin mates.” I ran. These competitions sure were serious. The rest of the day consisted of hikes, rafting, even a tour. “And this is the-“ said Zura “Library!” Interrupted Alba, smiling innocently. “Yeah.” Said Zura, frowning at her. But at that moment, I didn’t care. I am a HUGE bookworm, and I absolutely love libraries. I immediately walked in with the rest of my group. The library was similar to a log cabin. It was two stories, and had columns that looked like trees. The whole place smelled like pine. There was shelves bursting with books. Each was its own little world. “This is where our tour-“ “Ends!” “Yes, Alba! We know!” “I’m just trying to lighten the mood!” The girls bickered the whole way out, making a lot of people from the adventure cabin shoot dirty glances at us, like it was OUR fault. Oh well. I got a library card, and immediately checked out some books. I read a lot, until it was closing time. “Honey, you know your allowed to read those in your cabin too, right?” “Oh, yeah.” I carried my books and went back to my cabin, but I was so exhausted, I decided to sleep. I had had so much fun in the last three days.
