Instructions

I PICKED up the sense that Peter and Bert had a mutual dislike for each other, though I couldn’t see why. They should’ve been best friends, but Peter acted… so un-Peter-like, is the only way I can think to put it. “Where were we?” He asked. I stood up to give him a peck on the cheek, but he turned at just the right moment, so it turned into a kiss on the lips. I didn’t mind though, because he pulled me closer, tucking loose hairs behind my ear, kissing my face, then my lips. I beamed at him after I pulled away. “Bert’s your best friend, huh?” “Among the servants, yes.” “I don’t count as a servant?” “You haven’t been signed in yet have you?” “Nope!” He said picking me up and spinning me around once before gently setting me down. “Anyway, he doesn’t seem like a very good best friend.” “What do you mean?” He gave me a look. “Haven’t you noticed the way he talks and looks at you?” “Yes, it’s exactly the same as he treats everybody,” “Well, not me, apparently.” “Not fair! He was just intimidated.” “By what?” “You and me. He was just being like an older brother.” “He was being like more than that if you ask me.” He muttered softly, but I caught it. “Now, Peter. He knows I don’t love him, but that I love you, so you can put a stop to that.” “Okay, fine. But you didn’t tell me you knew someone from the actual palace!” “You didn’t ask!” I laughed and swatted his hand playfully. “What time is it?” He said, changing the subject. “Wouldn’t you like to know?” I said, menacingly holding my fingers in a clawed position, ready to start tickling whenever he gave the countdown. He laughed, and positioned himself in the same way as I. “Three, two, one!” He whispered. I began to tickle him on “two,” so he laughed and managed to squeeze out, “No fair! I wasn’t done counting yet!” I laughed and stopped tickling him. “Really, now. What time is it?” He yawned, and I checked my grandmother’s old pocket watch. “Only 10:30,” “Only 10:30?” “Yes, only 10:30!” “Well, I am tuckered out.” “Plus, we have to get up early to get you signed in and shown around before chores start.” “You bring up a good point,” He winked. “I’m tired too,” I said, also yawning, “Yawns are contagious.” “Indeed, madame, they are.” He stepped closer and positioned my hands on his chest. “Goodnight, Peter,” I said, attempting to remove myself, not feeling the need to say goodnight this way. He didn’t let me go but gave me another kiss. I closed my eyes again, the “lightning sensation” - as I was beginning to call it - washing over me. “See you to-morrow,” I said, letting myself lean into his warmth. “I love you, Sunshine,” He said after a moment. “I love you too,” I said, smiling. “‘Night!” He started hurriedly away. “Wait!” I grabbed his sleeve and pulled him back. “What is it?” He said tenderly. “Don’t you want to know where your room is?” I laughed. He hit his forehead a few times, then said, “Why was I thinking about going to my room without knowing where it even is?” “I don’t know,” I giggled, “Why?” “Rhetorical question,” He shrugged, “Do you?” “Do I what?” “Know where my room is?” He said as though it were obvious. “You don’t have a room until you sign in,” I whispered, bringing him down to my level. “You can stay in the lobby.” Peter grinned and lifted me to his level. He closed his eyes, kissed my cheeks and eyelids as though he were feeling around, and when he found my lips with his, dropped me gently to the ground and continued kissing me. I tugged on his collar, pulling him closer, and cherishing the feel of his lips on mine. This kiss felt hollow, as though he were hiding something, but I didn’t mind; I knew that he truly loved me. Or did he? I pulled a little away from him to ponder this thought. “Is anything wrong?” He caressed my cheek with his thumb. “No, I was just thinking,” I decided to be perfectly honest with him, I knew what happened when I lied. “About what?” “Do you have to ask?” “No, but I want to know what’s going on with my belle.” “Fine, I was thinking about us.” He grinned. “Think we’re going too fast?” He suddenly was serious. “We probably are, it’s only been a few hours, but that’s not what I was thinking about.” “Oh.” He paused a moment. “Care to tell me?” “No, not right now.” Narrowly avoided that... He nodded, then asked, “Want to go somewhere with me on the next week’s end?” My face melted into a smile. “I’d be happy to, but aren’t you supposed to be getting to sleep?” “Right, I forgot! Everything moves so much faster when I’m with you rather than sitting alone in a corner.” I giggled. “By the way…” “Yes?” “You know how I’m taking an internship at a restaurant?” I squirmed uncomfortably. “Haleina’s Place?” “How’d you know?!” “I saw you there a few weeks ago,” “You took the words right out of my mouth. I was going to say that I saw someone that looked an awful lot like you.” “Well, it was me.” “Whew! I was beginning to question whether I had been seeing things.” I grinned and waved him out.

Description

:O WE'RE GOING ON THREE TIMES FITTING IN ONE BOX xD Okay, this was a pretty simple chapter, no fancy dreams or anything like in the last chapter. Close to the end of writing this, I actually got a chance to read Cat's book - if any of you know who I'm talking about. It's so amazing, and her chapters are much longer than mine :P. Slightly jealous of that, but I don't really care anymore. She's still the same as ever... Seriously, Annelise (who isn't seeing this rn xp) you're AMAZING thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo much for helping me with this book, fixing my many spelling errors, and helping me get out of Writer's Block several times. M, stick with your story. Trust me, it'll go far. Reina, you're also not going to see this, (thankfully :P) but I want to thank you for taking my offer of the title. I'll figure something out for my 2nd/final draft. I'm not going to be posting my 2nd draft, just so you all know :) Thanks for reading!
