Day 2: I woke up at 7:00 in the morning, which is strange for me, since I usually like to sleep till 9:30. Guess I was excited for the day! All my other bunk mates had already gotten up and left. I dug into my suitcase and got out the first book of The Heroes of Olympus, by Rick Riordan, and read until 7:50. Then, I had to wake, up brush my teeth, and get dressed, because it was part of camp protocol to be up before 8. I finally headed out of the cabin. The camp was like a whole new place. The rain had cleared up, being replaced with warm sunshine and a soft breeze. I embraced the weather. It was just SO perfect. “Shar!” I turned around and this time wasn’t supposed to see my friend, @star_drop, rushing toward me. “Did you get my letter?” she asked excitedly. “Yeah! I’m happy you’re having a good time! Made any cabin mates?” “No. You?” “Nope.” “Well, it’s only the second day, and besides, we still will be together a lot! Our cabins are allies!” By now, I knew what that meant, since I had studied the rule book the week before. (https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/371459449/) “Awesome! Though, we will still crush you.” I said, with a fake evil face. She returned the fake evil face, and said “Careful what you promise! I’m gonna get breakfast. You coming?” “Give me a sec.” “Alright.” She ran away to the mess hall. Before I went there though, I decided to take a look at the rest of the camp. There were 15 paths branching of into the wilderness, each one leading to its own cabin. In the center, there was a huge, glistening lake. Some people were already canoeing there! I could see some other buildings in the distance. I finally headed to the mess hall. As we ate our breakfast, (cereal, waffles, and egg), the camp counselors walked around, answering questions. “Excuse me!” I asked one, “Are we going to be starting the activities today?” “No.” he answered politely. “Camp officially starts on March 1st. Because so many people from around the world come here, we wait for a total of five days for them to arrive. You just came on the first.” He smiled. “Also, those hosts cause a LOT of ruckus and-“ “What?” “Erm, never mind. Basically you have the whole day to yourself.” He left the table. I asked star about this. “Hey, did you know we had a free day?” “What?!” I explained to her what happened. “That’s awesome though! We can spend the rest of the day together!” I know!” I said, smiling. We spent most of the day at the lake, trying to fish. Turns out, we are both TERRIBLE at fishing. We both just decided to feed the fish after that. “If that big fish eats my bread crumb, you owe me $5” she said. “No way. He’ll eat mine.” We both tossed the bread crumbs at the same time, but that big fish was so hungry he ate both of them at the same time in one big GULP. We stared for awhile before bursting into laughter. “You owe me $5.” “No way. He definitely ate mine!” We realized the sun was setting, so we both said goodbye and parted ways. “Wait!” She said. She handed me a bunch of envelopes, stamps, and paper. “We can write to each other now!” She said happily. I grinned. “Thanks, but I already have some envelopes.” “Those are for sending to people OUTSIDE of camp, but only these types of letters are allowed inside.” “Weird.” “I know. Anyways, bye!” She rushed off to her cabin. I trudged up the mountain, going over the day. It was so fun! I took a shower and got into bed. I couldn’t wait for REAL camp to begin.
Ok, sorry this came AN HOUR LATE. So, apparently I had a bad word in my project, even though I actually DIDN'T have a bad word.... The bad word was “hang”, but I quickly replaced it. No hate btw scratch team though :)))) it is more important to make a friendly environment for all ages, and I’m glad you are so cautious. :D Anyways...... This is based out of SWC.
