one minute - original poem one minute. one minute where oxygen flows keeping my body alive. one minute where bright and colorful dawns break and evenings slip into dark nights. one minute majestic mountains tower over forests as they have for thousands of years. one minute seas churn and pull waves across a sandy beach as they’ve always done. one minute the moon revolves around the earth, on the same course it’s been on since the dawn of time. the earth revolves around the sun, with its planet companions hundreds of thousands of miles away, so far from this star yet still going around it in an endless ring. one minute the galaxy spins as stars align and part ways in an order G-d specifically designed so, so long ago. every star in every galaxy burns bright, knowing it will burn out, but being content with a lovely view of its closest neighbors, who are still millions of miles away, watching over their young planets as they revolve around and around, for all of their time. yes, in one minute as the universe changes, expands, maybe even plans its point to come to an end, I stand here. I stare at a wall, waiting for my burrito to re-heat in the microwave.
