Instructions

Hello Class, Today I'll be teaching you how to draw a Basic Dog Headshot, heres what you'll need for this lesson: -A Art Program that uses layers -Your hand/A stylist -And your imaginations! Lets get to it! 1. First, you get a canvas thats 2048 x 1536, if your making an icon, 500 x 500. Then get your sketching brush, it can be any brush, in red, this way you'll be able to tell it apart from the rest of the sketch 2. Next, you make the head tuft and cheek fluff in green, in the next few slides, it shows different varieties of cheek fluff and head tufts, of course, there are so many more choices! 3. Then you draw the ears, the next slide shows a few varieties of ears, I mostly use pointed ears, but which ear choice you use is up to you! 4. Now you draw the snout, the snout can sometimes be a little 'ruff', but you can always redo it or fix it! It's ok to make mistakes :3 5. So this dog can't just be a floating head, so make its neck and chest, then some extra fluff on the bottom to close it off, were just about done with the sketch 6. Now make your brush black, add accessories, eyes, and a mouth, then you want to add another layer and change your sketch layer opacity 7. Make the lineart with a black brush, color in the black parts of the art piece, delete the sketch layer while your at it and make a new layer and move it under the lineart layer 8. Now use the new layer with the lineart layer over it, and color it! These doggo is a German Shepard, so I used German Shepard colors, sometimes, you can't get the correct color, so you can look a picture of the dog your trying to draw, and eyedrop its colors :3 9. Make ANOTHER new layer, put it over the color layer and under the lineart layer, clip it to the color layer and get a airbrush in black. Make light strokes against the picture in the places you want shaded, then take white and add highlights. Now you can merge all the layers :D 10. Finally, make yet another layer and put it under your doggo layer, now you can make a background, it doesn't have to be really complex, it can be polka dots, stripes, a blank background, or just a scribbles, like mine! Sign and Done! :3 Thanks for reading all of this students, now my assignment to you all is to draw your favorite dog breed in a headshot. If it seems you are a bit to unable to draw that breed, its ok, you can always choose another! Questions or Comments? You can always come talk to me!
