A brief history of the Magic 8 Ball: The magic 8 ball was invented in 1950 as a novelty toy by Albert Carter and Abe Bookman and manufactured by Mattel. The original actually had 20 answers, not 8, though. You ask a question, then shake it, and it will display the answer. Some say it actually predicts the future... DUN DUN DUN!!!!
