So basically, the three have powers that don't work out right for them. Dovewing has super senses, but she can't handle her daily life with them, as her hearing is too sensitive. Lionblaze tried killing, and has become obsessed with the fact that it's so easy for him. Jayfeather on the other hand, is perfectly fine with his powers, and aggressively tries to convince the others that they can live with it. StarClan knows this and tries to deliver him a message. "a Wing, a Feather, a Blaze of fire. Gathered together is the power of the stars. If the elements are to be saved, you must not Listen to the dark See the dark or Speak to the dark." Jayfeather again complained about StarClan's vague prophecies. The next day unfolded into chaos. Yellowfang gravely brought the three to the Moonpool for what she called a special ceremony. "Listen to the dark See the dark or Speak to the dark. This is what you have done. An eye for an eye. Darkness for darkness." And Lionblaze had the sudden urge to attack. He leaps at Dovewing, ripping her ears off. Yellowfang then nods her head and Lionblaze's claws are ripped away and his mouth is closed shut, and weaved together. Upon Jayfeather's ignorance, they then grant him power to see everything, everywhere, all the time. This is too much for him to handle and he stops maintaining self control after a short time. At the great battle against the Dark Forest, the clans were destroyed, and the three were forced to watch, without doing anything about it...
