Hurricane/Hypercane Patricia is the strongest tropical cyclone ever recorded globally. It started off as a mere tropical storm off the coast of Mexico before intensifying at an unprecedented rate on the morning of October 23. The storm reached a record 210 mph as it neared the coast of Mexico. Thankfully, the storm then weakened at a record pace as well, but nonetheless striking Mexico as a strong category 4, the strongest in the EPAC basin. Effects were severe, but thanks to the relatively sparse population of the landfall zone, they were limited. The remnants of Patricia continued into Texas, causing considerable damage. Although Patricia is officially the 2nd most intense tropical cyclone globally, it is important to note that Patricia may have had a pressure much lower than the official number of 872 mbars in between aircraft observations - Tags: #Hurricane #HurricaneAnimation #HurricanePatricia #Patricia #Weather #TropicalCyclone #Meteorology #Category5
