Description

Estimates by me may differ from official reports Hurricane Andrew was one of the four hurricanes to strike the continental US at category 5 status (The other being the Labor day hurricane of '35, Camille of '69, and Michael of 2018. The storm started off in the main development region and became a tropical storm before failing to strengthen. The storm passed well north of the Greater and Lesser Antilles. The storm then explosively intensified to a Category 5 before striking the Bahamas as a category 5, becoming the strongest hurricane ever to strike the Bahamas until surpassed by Dorian of 2019. The storm weakened due to and eyewall replacement cycle and weakened to a Cat 4 before reintensified back to a cat 5 before passing just south of Miami. After that, the storm struck LA as a category 4. The storm became the costliest Atlantic storm on record, before being eclipsed by Katrina, Wilma, Ike, Sandy, Harvey, Irma, and Maria Music: Force Thirteen-Tune 24 - Tags: #Hurricane #HurricaneAnimation #HurricaneAndrew #Category5 #Andrew #Weather #FloridaHurricane
