Thanks to hahasamian for the coding ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update History 5/08/2021 - Added a music player! 1 - Start Player 2 - Next Song 3 - Previous Song 7/08/2021 - I improved Sonic's running animation. Sonic's running animation used to only have 4 frames but I tripled it to 12. Hahasamian's original modern sonic engine only had a running animation with only 4 frames and at the time I didn't know how to code things in to support a 12 frame run. But now I can so I added it in and its the full run from Piggeh's Modern Sonic Engine. I need to add some code to make the animation go faster based upon Sonic's speed. Also some minor sound effect changes have been made. Enjoy! 16/08/2021 - Added the slide! Press down while running to slide! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 384 days later. It has arrived. Sonic Unleashed Engine: 1ST Anniversary Edition! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to the definitive version of Sonic Unleashed Engine, the 1ST Anniversary Edition. This new update brings some new enhancements and features in comparison to the original. For starters, there is a whole new sprite set for Sonic. This was from the Modern Sonic Engine from piggeh. My mate hahasamian included this sprite set when he made his Modern Sonic Engine back in early 2019, and I just incorporated it into the game. Unfortunately the running animation has only 4 sprites in this project. Hopefully the motion blur used on Sonic's legs make this look less evident. Pressing the number 5 will cycle through 18 wallpapers. These are high resolution images (mostly 1080p or 720p images) , that I have down-sampled down to 360p. The results look really good, considering the low resolution. The SEGA intro from the game is included when you press the green flag. Putting video into Scratch is actually quite easy actually. I'll make a project on how to do that one day. For now, get any online YouTube to MP4 converter ( e.g. Clip Converter) and download the video. Convert the MP4 to a GIF file ( via a mp4 to gif converter such as ezgif ), and use an MP4 to MP3 converter so that you can have audio on your project. Next, upload the gif and audio into Scratch. You will need to reorganise some frames , do some light coding (use the script in the project and you'll be okay), and try and sync it up with the audio. And bang! You have a video on your Scratch project. It will be fairly low quality because gif files can only have 256 colours (and don't forget the Scratch's max resolution for images is 480 by 360) , but it should be serviceable unless you are in fullscreen. The menu has been refined even more. The instructions section in game is brand new. The start game sprite also has a MUCH smoother animation. Don't forget that this game carries over all of the addition made in the first Sonic Unleashed Engine. They include: A new menu system, Modern Sonic gameplay, full compatibility with Scratch 3.0, new sound effects , sounds and more! I'm pleased about what I have done here, and I hope you are too. Thanks for reading, and have a nice day! Released 12/12/2020 21.20 pm GMT
