Every year on March 3rd Japanese celebrate the Dolls Festival, Hina Matsuri. It's a tradition passed down for centuries since Nara-Period. Most families with girls display dolls, which are called, Hina Ningyo. These dolls are wearing a traditional layered kimono, which were worn by nobles during Heian-Period. On this day people pray for happiness and good health.
