(NOTE: I'm working on a bigger project at the moment, and once that's done, I'll be redoing it from the ground up, meaning this isn't what the final product will be like.) -= BATTLE SIMULATOR =- HAL is being stubborn and not making a Kirby RPG, so I had to take (Dark) matters into my own hands. To tide over Kirby fans worldwide, I've decided to present the beginnings of my concept for a Kirby RPG! Though it seems very simple on the surface... well, actually, it's extremely simple, but simple doesn't always mean bad! -= HOW TO PLAY =- - Kirby's Turn- Select an option using the Battle Menu at the bottom. Press Space to select your option. ATTACK: Kirby walks up to the enemy and attacks with his ability! If you press space at the right time, Kirby can attack multiple times! Just press Space when Kirby or his weapon gleams red! SUPER: Store up SP to unleash a powerful Super Attack! You gain Super Points, or SP, when Kirby unleashes a Perfect Combo of 3 attacks! Collect 5 SP and select the SUPER option to unleash your ultimate attack! ITEM: Coming soon.* Collect items on the overworld map or from defeated enemies to use in battle! Heal yourself up, switch abilities, instantly unleash a Super Attack, and more! *("Soon" means "in the full version", which I'm going to be making in Game Maker.) RUN: Sometimes an enemy is just too much. Use this option to get out of dodge! Mash the space bar and you might get away! - Enemy Turn - During the enemy's turn, they will charge at you or unleash a ranged attack. Press the space bar to jump, and try not to get hit - you can only get hit six times before you die, so be careful and dodge well! Changelog: 13 November 2019: Added SP Bar 14 November 2019: Made Super Attacks functional 19 November 2019: Made the timing for combos a bit more lenient since I noticed it was a bit too hard 19 November 2019: Added a basic projectile attack 20 November 2019: Made Run button functional 22 November 2019: Changed amount of hits in a Perfect Combo to 3 instead of 5, lowered enemy HP to 30 instead of 40; both were done to reduce difficulty 23 November 2019: Noticed that sword sound makes it harder to do a combo, figured out why this is, so I made the timing more lenient for doing it too early since the sword sound suggests that the timing is slightly earlier than it is 24 November 2019: Made it so that you can no longer spam space to attack, which got brokedy by the improved combo system 25 November 2019: Turned the first round into a quick tutorial on how battles work so that players don't have to read the text wall of instructions to play the game properly 26 November 2019: Caused the screen to dim and freeze when a tutorial happens 5 December 2019: Revised detection of space press testing system; in other words, the game detects when you're pressing space differently 5 January 2020: Exactly a month since the last update, finally added the gosh darn music; it's not the best, but it's finally here. Also fixed the death animation 13 January 2020: Noticed that running was broken, fixed it and added a space bar indicator 14 January 2020: Added fading in and out, doesn't look quite as retro anymore but it looks nice; also revamped the victory screen 7 April 2020: Made the Wheelie animation a bit slower with less frames, which made it easier to import into Game Maker, as well as reducing its HP to 27 so that getting 6 Perfect Combos and unleashing your Super Attack kills it; this is probably going to be the last update this demo of the game gets 6 August 2020: Finished the Game Maker battle demo; see https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/375993/?page=1#post-4300158 for the download
