TL;DR: I have proved that scratch.mit.edu/projects/1 is definitely not the first Scratch project. It was most likely made in 2.0. *UPDATE 2, reposted from bottom* This project could have been created back in 1.4, or even 1.0, and has been edited since. I feel stupid now This is the data from https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1/. Lots of people think it's the first Scratch project, but I have some obvious evidence to prove that wrong. Firstly, vector graphics such as the ones this one uses didn't even EXIST in 1.4. Same with the 'glide to random position' block. The Scratch Cat sprite in this is in vector, which contradicts that. Secondly, the project ID of a project has nothing to do with the project number it is. (Update: Not quite sure abt this) This is obviously either some newb at Scratch luckily getting project ID 1, but never sharing their project, or the ST testing out Scratch. This is, by all means, NOT the first Scratch project. It probably came out in the 2.0 era(because of 2.0 Scratch Cat). *UPDATE* The glide to blocks didn't exist in 2.0, so this must have been an early scratch 3 test project? Things don't add up *UPDATE 2* This project could have been created back in 1.4, or even 1.0, and has been edited since. I feel stupid now
