Before we begin, I want to say I am an atheist. However, I do understand the Christian religion. Also, I am not discriminating against Christians. I do not support discrimination of any kind, shape or form. I do not think it matters if you are a Christian, as long as you are supportive of everyone. With that out of the way Christians are not the most persecuted religious of group and here’s why you shouldn’t say they are: 1. They simply aren’t. The most prosecuted and oppressed religious group is Muslims. 2. It’s like saying “All lives matter,” Here’s a quote from an article on The Friendly Atheist that explains why: It should trouble all of us that religious hostilities are on the rise worldwide. It’s no time to play a game of Who’s Most Persecuted — and American Christians are in no position to complain about how rough they have it when darn near every other religious or non-religious group in the world would gladly switch places with them in order to acquire their social status and government power. 3. Christian oppression is not worldwide. The reason why Christians are harassed worldwide is because of how large the religious group is. It is not hatred of the religion, it is simply because there are lots of Christians. In /most/ highly developed countries and/or world powers Christians can practice their religion freely without persecution. There are more countries where atheists can be killed for being atheists than countries that are known to oppress Christians, that says quite a bit. Also yes, I am aware of how Christians can be put to death in certain countries and how in parts of Asia and North Africa, people are forced to lie about their religion or convert their faith because of the government. I do not support this. However, we should be fighting for religious acceptance worldwide, not playing Who’s Prosecuted The Most?
