Instructions

These two were having a little contest for who could make the better SD40-2, and they wanted me to judge it. Note: My rating system is quite harsh, sorry. Reid8 SD40-2 Strengths: Added first aid kit on the cab door. +1 More detailed wipers and beacon lights. +2 Glossy window effect. +3 Deployed cab window mirrors. +1 Vector CP lettering on nose and semi accurate railing coloring. +1 Detailed plow and nose sections +1 SP8535alt SD40-2 Strengths Color accurate outlines +3 Highly detailed plow and nose sections +4 Vector UP logo on nose +1 Accurate railing coloring +1 Reid8 SD40-2 Weaknesses Short and wide body (I will not count this, because it may just be the art style). Skinnier nose then what is on the real locomotive. -1 Slightly less detailed nose, plow, and coupler -1 SP8535alt SD40-2 Weaknesses Right side cab door steps are not modeled and less detailed wipers -1 Non glossy windows -1 Feedback: For Reid8, you did an excellent job modeling the locomotive accurately, I could not find any major and or semi major details that were not on the drawing. However, I would suggest that you make it a little less wide and a little bit taller. Also, I would suggest making the outlines a darker shade of the color than on the inside. Other than that, it is excellent! For SP8535alt, you also did an amazing job too. You clearly gave it a lot of time, just like reid8. I do like your outline technique and the fact that you used an actual vector UP logo that was drawn by you. I would say that if you are going to make your drawings as detailed as that, then you should really double check details, just in case. This is why I was being nit-picky with your details, such as the cab steps, and wipers because of its detail level in general. Also, I would recommend making glossy windows on your locomotives. Other than that it is great! (If there are any errors in the scoring I am sorry.) Final scores: (Rated Out of Ten) Reid8: (1+2+3+1+2) -1 -1 = 7 SP8535alt: (3+4+2+1) -1 -1 = 8
