ooo this is the process no one asked for yayyy! just a disclaimer: this character is from purple hyacinth, a webcomic. I do not recommend this comic for those who are younger than teenagers due to the violence that is depicted throughout the storyline, but it is a really good comic if you are old enough (and okay with that sort of thing) :D <3 (and the music- which is in this project- is incredibleeee) (Space or click for next slide) 1. rough idea with reference - references are hugely important, especially when you’re drawing fanart for characters. As you can see, I have a similar positioning, but it is obviously not traced and I have specifically made slight changes in order to differentiate. 2. base coloring the details I want filled in - look! lauren wore masks before it was fashionable! (okay bad joke sorry I’ll go now) 3. base shadows - this is a very very cool way of shadowing things that I need to use more often hehe XD 4. base shading - yes I shaded after the shadows don’t ask me why idk XD 6. oh look she has pants now aha - they look blocky, but I fix that later 7. backgroundddd - this changes though hehe 8. blended background and also fixed the pants so they didn’t look so blocky (and also desaturated them) 9. saturation effects - mm this part was fun XD 10. thumbnail!
