| Chapter Three | Fawn | Fawn woke with a jolt after another nightmare about his sister, who had died right in front of him on a Monster-path. 'I miss you Ice..' he thought sadly, looking around at the other half-pups who had accepted him into their little group. Hawk’s nest was empty though. He must be outside already. He stood padding to the den entrance keeping an eye on the ground so he didn't trod on anyone's tail or paw. He saw Hawk across the clearing sharing a squirrel with his mother, Dove. She was a fluffy grey and white vixen. His mother was freaking out over who she mated with, as they were best friends she had mated with Hero, a big brown male with a nick in his ear, he scared Fawn sometimes but he was all fluff on the inside around pups. He always gave them badger rides. Fawn watched from the other side of the clearing as the alpha Lunar pushed her way out of her den, her Beta behind her, Fallen. She was a strong vixen with pale brown fur with a white stripe down her back. Fawn was always teased that he was more of a watcher than a listener; he always messed up on the pounces and had only ever caught a fat wood mouse. It was also very old. He drew his attention back to Lunar as she jumped onto the tree and barked for the pack to gather beneath her. Barks of surprise came from the half-pup den as his brother Cliff tumbled from the den, the biggest half-pups trampling him as they dashed from the den. Fawn rushed over to help Cliff to his paws. He rested his tail on his back comfortingly as the small pup whimpered in fright as the biggest half-pup stalked from the den shoving aside the others as he padded forward. His name was Tiger. He was huge for a fox pup and no doubt would become beta when he was older. He terrified Hawk, Fawn and Cliff but the others joined in his screams as he stepped forward as his name and two of the other half-pups were called to become full members of the pack. He watched as Lunar rested her nose on each of their heads. His mother Frost padded over and curled her tail around them both, licking the top of Cliff's head to calm him down. Tiger laughed and said when Lunar wasn't paying attention “Hey look at the little Puppy who still needs his Mommy!” he laughed even harder when Cliff whimpered, shrinking against Frost's fluffy white fur. She glared down at Tiger with the mother's look and he shied away from her, the laughing instantly cut off as Lunar barked at Tiger to stop. He glared around and stalked out of camp the others following behind him. Fawn glared at Tiger. When he looked back he snarled something to one of the others following him who nodded in agreement, and as they padded from camp Fawn stared, wondering what they had said.
