Description

Use WAD keys To control the polar bear Use the arrow keys to control the scratch cat ---Although the coding used for the polar bear is the easy way out for coding with scratch, it is not smooth at all, and although easier and simpler, does not play very well- It lags for a second before moving and can take away a good gameplay experience. With the coding for the scratch cat, however, it is a lot smoother and flows better. It plays a lot better and although takes a lot more effort putting together, it is well worth the extra 5 minutes for an extrordinarily big difference in platform games. (This is a school coding project where I am asked to demonstrate some sort of coding knowledge and also create a tutorial. This is just the finished product) For other viewers watching this- Yes! If you want to use the coding I created for the scratch cat, you're more than welcome to! (With credit) It's great seeing a game that actually runs smoothly instead of the very basic "When [key] pressed, move 10 steps forward" coding that beginners use. The tutorial is quite useless without the images I provided and since you guys aren't allowed to give your emails I can't email the powerpoint to you either, this can't really count as helpful, but hey, at least you can use the coding here? Also yes, I know, for the jump for the scratch cat it could be improved vs my easier way but I only had an hour to create the tutorial and this example in class, so I ran out of time and had to quickly do it instead of using variables, like I should have. Sorry about that! (Also there is no goal or point and this isn't an actual game okay, just a school project example for a tutorial i wrote for class, don't think it is because it's not and don't make comments like "What's the point in this?" or "What's the goal?")
