Make the number in the middle. Select the number you want to change using the arrows, and click any of the big bold numbers to actually change it. Set the operator by clicking the symbols on the right. Click the green checkmark to give your answer.
You can only have single-digit numbers on either side. If a number is impossible to make, just exhaust the number of tries remaining until you get a new number, or just click the flag.
