I asked, stumbling towards Drew. "Uhm..." He replied, with a worried expression. I looked back, confused and dazed. He pointed to a mirror on my desk. I looked at my reflection, and practically fell over. It was a dream, someone else I was looking at, a prank, or something! But it wasn't. My fur wasn't the golden ginger like before. It was purple. A saturated, dark purple. I yelped and noticed it WAS me. The same purple hat, almost blending in with my new fur, the same shiny badge reading "Afton", the same grey eyes. "I mean, purple's your favorite color, so that's better than getting stuck with a color you hated...?" Drew said. "But... Why... Purple..? Why not a gray or something? Maybe even the same fur as before? I'm not even sure this even worked? What if I made it shorter? What if I'll die this week or something because I infuse-" I started stammering, and Drew cut me off. "You have to stop worrying! You'll be fine, just... Purple? What are you gonna say tomorrow at the pizzeria? You can't tell them about the remnant, so just say you dyed your fur purple? They might believe you, since it is your favorite color." I didn't even think about what I'd say to Henry, and Alan, or even Mike, Chris and Liz. Drew's excuse could work, I guess. Henry was already suspecting I was doing something strange, ever since Kent and Clara died. Maybe he'd figure it out... "I guess that'll work" I said to Drew, who then grinned. || "Hey Alan-" "ACK!" Alan stumbled back, dropping some boxes filled with the blueprints me and Henry were making and then looked at my badge, and he stood back up. "Will...? How did you--Why are you-- Why are you purple?" Alan stuttered, obviously shocked. "I... dyed my fur purple!" I lied. "Okay... I kinda miss the orange already" Alan said. Henry walked in and flipped around, shining a flashlight in my eyes. "Ow-Henry, put that down!" Henry lowered the flashlight and glared, not looking at my badge, he knew who I was. "Will? What happened to--" "He dyed his fur purple," Alan stepped in. "Okay then..." Henry said, and Alan picked up the boxes and walked down the hallway towards the office. Henry stared at me once he turned the corner. "What?" I said "....You know you can't bring her back, right?" I was stunned. "I-" Henry walked back into the safe room, still staring at me. He probably knew.
