Updated version here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/467455901/ Hurricane Wilma remains the most intense storm in the Atlantic basin. It formed southwest of Jamaica and slowly intensified. On October 19th, Wilma rapidly intensified to a category 5, setting the record for fastest intensification in 24 hours. The storm slammed the Yucatan peninsula as a powerful category 4, dumping record-breaking rainfall over the area. The storm then became the 4th storm that year to strike the US as a major, hitting Florida on October 24. The storm then went out to sea. This animation is the first to feature a 3D shadow effect.
