Scratch is great! I love Scratch! This is a reupload of my old "Little Kids Shouldn't be on the Internet" Project that was taken down for daring to disagree with Scratch's policies, here is the original text: The main problem with websites like Scratch and Youtube is that they appeal to little kids. The problem I see with this is that, kids, especially little, little kids, are still developing their brain, and therefore, will say stuff that is either selfish or straight out dumb, and won't listen to anyone when people tell them to stop. They aren't bad people, they are just naive. Everyone in the world can admit that there are things they did as a kid that they are embarrassed of now. So what happens when you indroduce these blissfully unaware children to the unforgiving world of the internet? Well, you have arguments, insults, art theft, bullying, etc, as well as little kids who won't listen to anyone and just keep being obnoxious. This is my biggest problem with websites that try to appeal to these kids as well as parents who use the internet to babysit their children. No matter how "kid friendly" a website is, these conflicts are still going to happen, and nothing good is going to come from it. This is why I think that Scratch should put an age system into the website that doesn't allow these very little kids (at least under the age of 9) to interact with everyone else on the website, that way they can still get some educational value from the site. This obviously won't fix everything, since most kids pretend to be older then they are anyway, but it would be a start. Oh, and parents? Make sure you actually PARENT your kids and make sure they aren't doing anything they shouldn't be doing, and don't blame the content creators when they come across something they shouldn't, because YOU are the reason they are on the internet in the first place.
