Arrow keys to scroll and see the full reference! Space if you want to see what I based Mori's spiderman halloween costume off of. (Sorry about the wait.) (Here's the bio! Just a little warning, I mention death a lot, (and I mean a lot) in this bio. So if that kind of thing bothers you, proceed with caution. Also, Lin, if you chose this character, you can change absolutely anything (and everything) in this bio. This is is mainly the story and personality I had in mind while designing this. ) Bio: Name: Mori Robinson Age: 14 (12 at time of death.) She ages normally, although her body decays more and as she does so. The pieces of her arm and leg that are pictured weren't missing when she first died. Species: Unknown (Previously human. Lich?) Pronouns: She/her (but she also likes they/them and is tentatively considering those pronouns, although she primarily goes by she/her) Likes: Nature, junk food (she can't eat it, but she likes looking at the colorful packaging), raw meat, going on runs in the forest, button-up shirts, movie-theaters, autumn, comic books, and air-conditioning. Dislikes: cooked meat, capitalism, the nuclear family (as a concept, she bears no ill will towards those in nuclear families), abandonment. Personality: Mori is generally on the quiet side. She is incredibly insecure, and it takes her a while to gain people's trust. That said, once someone is patient and kind to her, she latches on very clingy, and will often not talk to anyone except said person. Mori isn't the best with social cues, and though she can be quite funny, she doesn't have the best handle on her mouth, and her sarcasm can hit a lot closer to home than she intends, hurting people's feelings without meaning to. (That said, she can and will verbally fight someone for you.) Mori is fun to be around, especially because of the pure and genuine joy and wonder that even the smallest kind actions or beauties can get out of her. That said, she has a tendency to be a bit moody, and she feels everything 5x more intensely than a "normal" person, and if she really trusts you and is around you a lot, she might lash out (if she's feeling really awful. Still, she almost apologises, and Mori really tries to do better. She's learning and growing.) Mori genuinely loves living and the world around her, and hates the fact that she's rotting away. Though she knows that her time was probably already up two years ago, she's determined to hold on long enough to find love, peace, or some sort of happiness. Her worst fear is herself, and what she symbolises. (Namely, mortality.) Backstory: Mori grew up in a relatively "normal" household. She had a father and a mother, both of whom she loved, although there was some distance between them. Mori always had trouble making friends and her way of seeing the world different from that of a "normal" child. Though Mori was very obviously neurodivergent, she was never diagnosed as her parents weren't sure how to handle a child such a Mori. They more so swept her issues aside and ignored them, leaving it to Mori to take care of herself in that regard. She spent most of her time in the forest behind her house, and the animals and plants and mushrooms became her friends. That is, until one evening, an evening which grew darker faster than Mori had expected. She found herself deep in the forest later than she was supposed to be out. Though she could have usually found her way back, she never reached the warmth of her living room fireplace. She was attacked by a wild animal before she could make it back. It might have been a coyote, or a rabid dog or a wolf or even a mountain lion. All Mori knows is that it attacked her, tearing the bottom of her face off and leaving her to bleed in the forest. Mori died. Except, not quite, because she opened her eyes 15 hours later on a table in the Morgue, brushed herself off, and walked back home. When her parents and the other members of the town saw her, they were horrified. It was then when Mori realized what she had become. They shot at her, and she ran to the forest, the place that had been her solace and her deathbed. She lived in the forest for a few months, feasting on raw meat (which, after she died, became the only thing she could eat.) and surviving rather well on her own. But loneliness set in, so, to keep herself sane, she began to wander closer and closer to the human towns and cities, using a scarf or a mask to cover up her face, and using hats and baggy clothing to cover up her bones/mushrooms. Still, while she's by herself or with people she trusts, she prefers to wear the outfit pictured in the reference, as it feels better. So if you see a peculiarly dressed kid with baggy clothing keeping to herself near the outskirts of your local forest, don't be afraid, nor should you seek to do this child harm. You may just have crossed paths with a lost spirit simply trying to find a home.

Description

Ps. in the reference sheet, I made the "i" in "Mori" look like a little mushroom, sorry if that is confusing. Her name is not Mor, it is Mori. In case you can't read it, here's what it says in her word bubbles. In the one near the left bottom it says "Why am I so ugly?", and in the one right of it (in the middle bottom) says "So funny, man. I almost died of laughter. Oh wait." As to my inspiration for this one, I wanted to make a spooky character, and so I thought, "what's spookier than our own mortality?" Also, I know it's kinda cliche to name her Mori, but it means death in latin, and also forest in Japanese, and I thought that was kinda neat.
