Use the left and right arrow keys to move Mario. Press the up arrow to jump. Avoid the Goombas and Bullet Bills. You're score is shown in the variable at the top of the screen (not the one next to the "Mario x" icon. That's how many lives you have left). Notice that you get more points as you play. Collect the coins. Collect the fire flower to turn into Fire Mario. While you are Fire Mario, press the spacebar to throw a fireball. Fireballs can defeat Goombas, but not Bullet Bills. If you get hit by an enemy in normal Mario mode, you will lose a life. If you get hit by an enemy in Fire Mario mode, you will lose the fire power. Get to the flagpole to win, but don't lose all your lives!
