Drem doesn't understand why, believing that everyone deserves dreams, and that those who aren't pure enough are that way because they never had any dreams, so she begins to secretly bestow dreams on those people. unbeknownst to her, they did dream, incomplete, tainted dreams, but dreams enough for them to have a chance to achieve that pureness. however, when she bestowed those perfect dreams, they mingled with the others, and that darkness slowly seeped into her. the 3 elders that ran the dream spirits found out when darkness started to seep into their world. they expelled the darkness from their realm, but it had already bound itself deep inside her. they were able to gather itself to one side of her face, but they knew she would still bestow on those unworthy and damage herself more, and that even if she didn't, her dreams would forever be tainted, so they removed her ability to bestow dreams. no longer having a purpose, she wanders the world, yearning to regain her powers and remove the darkness... maybe someday she will....
