To anyone wondering, this is my fish tank >w< I currently own eight neon tetras and two bristlenose catfish (one of them decided to come on the wall for this photo haha). 4 of my neons are just over 10 months old, and the rest are 1-2 months old. They grow really fast, and will almost double their size in 2 weeks! One of my bristlenoses, Stripes, is 5-6 months old. The other, Eclipse, is only 1-2 months old, and is a lot smaller! The one at the front of the tank when I took the photo was Stripes B) FAQ/Questions I think will be asked: Why do you have a cup over the bottom of the filter? This is because when you first get the tetras from the aquarium shop, they are so small that they can actually be sucked through the tiny slits when they are sleeping and die (as I found out the hard way). The big rocks there make sure the tetras don’t get sucked up, but also that the rocks don’t get sucked up (as they can block the filter) Why do you have two cave-like decorations? This is because as female and male (although I have female) bristlenose catfish mature, they begin to classify the tank as their territory. By the time I got Eclipse, Stripes had probably already started to do that. Of course, they would have to share the territory now and split the tank in half, but territories must have a cave each; plecos don’t like to share them because the cave is where they will eventually lay their eggs if they mate. So, I had to get two caves; one for each of them. The pineapple one was actually given to us for free from someone who worked at the aquarium!
