Water only MAKES things wet, but it is not wet itself. Water is "a colorless, transparent, odorless liquid that forms the seas, lakes, rivers, and rain and is the basis of the fluids of living organisms." Water isn't wet by itself, but it makes other materials wet when it sticks to the surface of them. Some people think water is wet, because wet, means "covered or saturated with water or another liquid." But actually, water technically ISN'T covered with water. It IS water, and therefor cannot be covered with itself. I know some people are going to start having a huge fight in the comments, but I want to explain this.
