You can’t feel anything, either - it almost seems as if you’re in a void of nothingness. Panic begins to rise in you, but just as you feel that you’re about ready to scream, you begin to feel what’s around you. The world is still dark, but you are lying on a padded surface, soft yet supportive. Slowly, your other senses fade in as well. Muted, indistinct voices can be heard around you, becoming clearer by the second. And, finally, your eyelids feel light enough so you can open them. And as you do, and you see the room you are in, a wave of memories crashes into you, causing you to squeeze your eyes shut once more. Two weeks ago. Hearing about the newest experiment in virtual reality. By some stroke of luck, one of your friends or family or colleagues had heard of it, and knew one of the people who were implementing it personally. One week ago. Seeing the email in your inbox, asking you if you’d like to take part in their experiment. Who knew that teenagers were better suited to virtual realities than adults? A day, perhaps only a few hours ago. Arriving in the building where it was going to take place, nervousness and excitement fighting each other for control of you. Right before you went into the game. Giving the girl next to you a reassuring smile, then leaning back into the chair, and letting the game take over, hiding your newest memories and putting you into what would become the worst - and yet best - 36 hours of your life ever. You open your eyes once again, and this time you manage to sit up, looking around. There they are, everyone who was in the Labyrinth, who you knew and didn’t know. And most of all… the ones you cared about who you thought were dead, sitting up and looking over at you. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hah, so, yeah...
