Guys, you have to all stop leaving because of the 'toxic community', it's /not true/. You might think I'm crazy but HEAR ME OUT HERE. Scratch is renowned for having a wide, inclusive 'community' which is one of the main elements of what separates scratch from other coding websites - the fact that you can interact with other people and view other people's creations. But this 'community' obviously doesn't have as many characteristics of a community that we might be expecting. A lot more people /are/ generally thirsty for fame, and don't care which way they get there, whether it's through advertising, or theft, or website bugs, or drama and attention, etc.. But those people aren't /our/ community. They're just outsiders. We just have a /smaller/ community rather than a 'toxic' community. All of us who generally have common sense and aren't here for the fame, we're all a community together. And we are great together. We shouldn't let confused 8-year-olds and mistakes from the scratch team hold us back from having a great time and creating amazing things on scratch. The problem here isn't the 'toxic community'. The /real/ problem is the amount of people who simply quit scratch /because/ of the 'toxic community'. We need to stick together and stand our ground rather than just resigning to the crowds of impatient, oblivious, homophobic people that have appeared on scratch. No wonder there are more and more of them if we just keep growing smaller. This is just a phase, like any other, where everyone's just discovered how cool it must be to be famous, sees an opportunity and takes it. There /will/ be an end to it, I promise. But it'll be a much longer phase if everyone who isn't part of it just vanishes from scratch. Come on, guys.
