Ok this isn’t really spoilers or anything, cause I want Frostface’s Backstory to be known, but it doesn’t really relate to the main plot, I’ll probably make a PMV project with the song Lost later about Frostface. Frostface had wanted to be a medicine cat since he could remember. He was super happy when he finally was officially apprenticed to Goldenfur. Goldenfur had actually started to teach him about herbs when he was 3 moons old. Frostpaw loved having Goldenfur as his mentor and considered her like a second mom. 2-3 moons into his training, on the way back from the moonpool the Medicine cats were attacked by a badger that had been beaten out of Skyclan territory earlier in the day. Plumflower had used to be a warrior, and fought hard to protect the other medcats who had little to no fighting experience. Goldenfur and Plumflower were injured. Goldenfur eventually died from bloodloss, when the medcats couldn’t defeat the badger in time to save her. Frostpaw was devastated and horrified. His mentor had just been killed gruesomely in front of him. Since Spidertail from Skyclan was the only medicine cat with a fully trained apprentice, Dreamleaf, he offered to finish training Frostpaw. (Silentear was also an apprentice at this time by the name of Mistpaw). Frostpaw ended up in a depression because of the loss of his mentor and had a hard time concentrating. Which worried Spidertail. Frostpaw ended up confiding in Mintleaf, a new warrior. Mintleaf and Frostpaw eventually formed a closed bond and Frostpaw would often vent to Mintleaf about his worries. With support from Mintleaf, Frostpaw started focusing better on his med cat training. 3 moons later, Frostpaw was given his full medicine cat name, Frostface, and Spidertail returned to Skyclan. By now Mintleaf and Frostface were in a romantic relationship. Frostface by now had come to terms with the death of his mentor, though he still missed her deeply. Around a year and a half later a really bad leaf bare hit, causing nearly half of Riverclan to be wiped out. This was possibly the most stressful time in his life that Frostface had ever experienced. The deputy, Fishtail, died late into the season, which caused Reedstar to decide to do anything she could to save her clan. She was grief stricken by the loss of her mate, and ended up making Mintleaf the deputy because he looked very similar to his father Fishtail. This was much to everyone’s surprise including Mintleaf’s, because Blizzardstrike, Reedstar’s other son seemed to be a much better fit, due to his confidence and Mintleaf’s more timid nature. Reedstar then proceeds to use up all 7 of her remaining lives over the course of 3 days to get over a moon’s worth of fish for her remaining clanmates in order to prevent anymore deaths by starvation. So Mintleaf had just lost both of his parents and made leader of a sick and dying clan. Needless to say he was in complete distress and overwhelmed. It took over two weeks to convince Mintleaf to actually get his nine lives. Mintleaf insisted over and over again to step down and let his brother take his place but Blizzardstrike continuously refused as he believed their mother had made the right decision and didn’t question it. Frostface finally convinced Mintleaf to get his 9 lives. During his leader ceremony, Mintstar gets a life for confidence from Reedstar, a life for courage from Fishtail, a life for trust from Goldenfur, a life for strength from Shiningstream, a life for clear judgement from Elderstar (The leader before Reedstar), a life for pride from Gingkokit, A life for happiness from Nectarbloom (Mintleaf’s apprentice who died during the leafbare), a life for determination from Tadpolesong (An elder that died during the leafbare and Mintleaf’s grandmother) and a life for cooperation by Possumpaw (a riverclan apprentice). Frostface comforts Mintstar, because he understand the loss and stress that Mintstar feels. After the leafbare ended Frostface helped deliver Riverclan’s first healthy litter of kits since the leafbare. The kits of Sunnysong and Nightfang, Perfectkit, Moonkit, and Tansykit. A few moons later and you get the first chapter of ToPH. Hope you enjoyed :3
