On October 3rd, 2020, Mojang announced the long awaited Caves and Cliffs update on Minecraft Live, which will be released summer 2021. This update has me very excited, and I'm sure it will continue the yearly trend of fantastic updates since the update aquatic. I have some thoughts on the announced features, but also some concerns, which I have put in this project. This project is not so much a recap of the announced features, rather my opinions on them. What are your thoughts on the announced features? Mojang made Minecraft, and is making Caves and Cliffs. C418 made the song, Concrete Halls, for minecraft, which is used in this project. Additional Notes: . I identify myself most as a builder in Minecraft, so that may have influenced my thoughts on Amethyst Geodes and Copper Oxidization. As a builder, I just want to have the option to have a build made of un-oxidized copper or Geodes in survival if I want to. I don't mind things like end portals and mob spawners being unobtainable, because Geodes have so much more building potential. . As of making this project, all the new features in this project are referred to in the Minecraft Wiki, except for the dark stone block next to the Geodes. It's clearly not regular stone or andesite, as the texture is rough and slightly diagonal, and the block appears dark next to the whitish stone block, and even the regular stone, and andesite is slightly lighter than regular stone. . A lot of people are angry about the glow squid winning the mob vote, as it seems to be a more useless mob. I think the glow-squid winning has something to do with Dream, I'm not sure, and I think a lot of the Minecraft community is being toxic. What I wanted to say is that people are comparing this years vote with the vote that gave us the phantom, and It got me thinking that the community is quite harsh on the phantom. I'm glad phantoms were added because there drop can be used to repair elytras, and on a more useful not, make slow fall potions. I have found slow fall potions incredibly useful in ender dragon fights, and is well worth phantoms spawning. I think phantoms are very interesting mob, and you can sleep if you don't want them anyway. Maybe we should be less harsh on the squid, even though another mob may have been more interesting. I'm sure Mojang will make some effort to make it interesting, and more than a re-skinned squid. . It has apparently been confirmed that one will be able to keep copper in one state if one so desires. Yay! . Its me from November 2020! The darker block in the Geodes is confirmed as Tuff. Copper can be waxed to stay in a certain state, and there is a variant of amethyst blocks that are obtainable in survival. The Glow Squid still concerns me though. . Hallooooo! Early 2021 Notproper here. Glow Squid is pretty underwhelming I think. Glow ink's uses aren't really that useful, and I don't see myself really using them often. Grimstone, the new cave generation, and the lush cave stuff is awesome though.
