Unlike the other assassins, killing brought him a deep grief. But the tears running down the ridges worn in his face brought back a long lost sense of humanity which he desperately craved. ----------------------------------------------------------- She was suddenly awakened with the inability to breathe. Shakily, she opened her eyes as her blurry vision began to clear. With each breath she felt her lungs shrivel inside her chest. Her head was pounding- an ache so violent it seemed to tear into her skull. A glint of light caught her eye. She turned on her side with great discomfort. Every inch of her body was overwhelmed with a burning pain. She gasped, choking on the air she inhaled. A figure patiently sat by her bed. He was masked with a permanent expression of misery that covered up a face scarred with deeper sorrow. His hands were folded in his lap. He didn’t speak. He hardly moved. An empty vial lay on her bedside table. Her breathing became rapid. She opened her mouth to scream but no sound came out. She tried to sit up, to run, do something- she wasn’t quite sure what- but the throbbing of each muscle prevented her from moving. “It won’t do you any good.” The figure said in a smooth, calm voice. “Resisting.” She lay back down, tears of disbelief slipping down her face. The figure cocked his head slightly to the side. “Don’t worry. It will all be over soon. Close your eyes. Rest now. Let me tell you a story. “Once upon a time, there was a beautiful young girl. She was born into a rich, well known family. She had all the desired material pleasures. A very grand house. A very expensive car. A very large sum of money. She didn’t have a job. She didn’t need a job. Thirty-one years old and still relying on mommy and daddy.” “No-“ she choked. Rivers of tears winded down her pale face and dripped down her chin. The figure put a finger to his painted mouth. “Hush now” He continued calmly. “This girl never disobeyed, never took risks, never lived up to what she believed somewhere deep down she could be. Paranoia that men only wanted her for her money plagued her to the point where she never went on a single date. The one day she decided to be spontaneous was the day she left the box she convinced herself for so long she was comfortable in to have a night of fun at a casino a couple miles away from her house. “And now, she lays in her bed, listening to a masked stranger speak to her. This stranger understands her struggle. He lived in a box himself. He spent many years being quiet. Getting stepped on. Until one day, he decided to break free from these chains. And the girl, the naive, sweet girl, will never be able to say the same.” She stared at the ceiling as everything once again grew blurry. An invisible presence seemed to grab a hold of her. She struggled, trying to scream, trying to breathe, but everything suddenly grew heavy. Then everything suddenly grew dark. Silver rose from the chair, picking it up and carefully placing it back at the table in the room. He wiped off any of the remaining liquid that had dripped onto the side table and placed the empty vial in his pocket. A single tear slipped down his face behind the mask as he glanced back at the woman lying motionless on the bed before closing the door behind him. ----------------------------------------------------------
Oh look I finally did it :D Honestly though, I stopped entering DTAs awhile ago because I get mEnTaLLy aTtacHeD aaah- I've been working on this for quite awhile and I really like this design (I like the song too. I've been listening to Parov Stelar ever since this DTA was posted hehe). Press Space: 1. The main picture I guess haha 2.Some fighting with the staff (I'm very bad at positions so this was good practice for me ^^) 3. A picture to go along with the writing blurb Okay here's the Bio- Name: Hansel Hoffman Gender: Male Personality: a bit anxious, standoffish, had morals but they all kind of went out the window when he became an assassin haha Backstory (oh boy how do I explain this): Hansel only existed to be an experiment. His parents weren't really in love and didn't really want him. As soon as he was born, his mother left, wanting to forget the child and her short lived relationship with Hansel's father (either that or she's actually an inter dimensional deity ahaha but that's another thing entirely). Hansel's father was one of the founders of an experiment known to most as simply 'Classified' which allowed one to travel in between dimensions and even back in time. He was able to tear a rift in the interworkings of the dimensions and create his own realm. They needed a child to enter it because it wasn't quite safe for adults just yet. Dr. Hoffman (Hansel's father) offered his own son. So Hansel was placed in Classified. For the first couple years, he went back and forth between Classified and the Central Dimension (which I would call Earth but technically it's all on Earth so..) but eventually he was fully emerged. It was a lonely life. He lived in this fashion until he was around sixteen years old. A few others joined him, all from different time periods, placed in there for different purposes. Meanwhile, a woman named Vera was determined to end Classified. After a few years, she finally succeeded and the dimension began to collapse and everyone except Hansel with it- he would be the first and the last. Vera allowed him to live because he was most victimized by the experiment. Before Classified collapsed, Hansel was able to realm jump. He ended up here, in Wonderland, searching for a new purpose after watching everything he ever knew crumble before his eyes. Anyway thank you for coming to my TED talk.
