Originally shared on October 2nd 2020 ———————————————————— here are the descriptions for the thingys I drew; 1: boofly This is an enemy found in kingdom’s edge in hollow knight, and personally one of my favourites. *unlike Primal Aspid, its Neighbour.* I had the wrong inktober list for this one, and thought that the prompt was flight, when really it was “fish”. Still, the boofly was very fun to draw, so I just went with it. 2: Joni Blue child Joni is an NPC hidden away in the howling cliffs of hollow knight. You can find a charm here that gives you way more health, but disables healing. This can be very helpful in boss fights that do not allow you time to stand still, but I find it’s useful in quite a lot of other ways. I thought Joni would be great for “wisp”. 3: colosseum of fools Today’s word, “bulky” reminded me of all of the armoured gladiators in the colosseum of fools, and how fun it was to battle through the trials there. This drawing wasn’t exactly the best perspective wise, but I was still relatively happy with the scene I was trying to create. (Colour for this one possibly coming soon) 4: The Hunter The hunter was an obvious choice for the word prey, my imagination isn’t very good XD. It didn’t quite turn out like I wanted, but it was still fun and challenging to draw. The real word for today was radio, which made me remember the tram, which I was planning to draw. However, on closer inspection the tram had a very detailed string of patterns, and after quite a few attempts I went with an alternate word. (Possibly re-drawing this one) 5: Nailsmith Nailsmith was such a great character in hollow knight. I liked the way the lighting could work, and spent some time making certain parts of the shell shine. Also Nailsmith x sheo. 6: some rat. My interpretation of a rat in hollow knight. I think I still need to improve the design a bit if I’m going to use it in my game, but it was nice to experiment. (Possibly redrawing soon.) 7: soul master About my third favourite boss in the game, it was really nice to draw such an unusual bug. I thought that the variety of colours and shiny gems on his robes and cowl would fit almost perfectly for the word “fancy”. 8: Midwife “A friendly NPC that attempts to consume you.” I must admit, I did cheat a bit with this one, and coloured it in with black on computer, the reason for this being the real pen had run out.
