His pelt was matted with twigs and dirty condensation from his hasty escape. The avian-blood glanced back hesitantly, seeing those familiar leering eyes in the stormscape, followed by the scream of thunder. He could almost hear the familiar, “Love me, Cobalt. You know there’s nobody above me.” He grimaced, turning away from the lightning and his home, the Kingdom Of Sky, Aellya. The prince couldn’t control him anymore now. Cobalt was still in love with that tyrant of a man, but he couldn’t stay with him. He had too many striped scars on his back, and his overseer at work had started to get worried. Cobalt couldn’t have Ari upset, the only soul who would listen to him. He was already making another avian upset, his boyfriend, who was now Cobalt’s ex. Without flushing the tears out of his eyes—which blurred his vision—the avian-blood threw open his wings. Knowing that breaking up with the prince would cost his job, as the royal messenger, and his status in his homeland, he was on the run. Running for all the pain and lies. ᴇxᴛʀᴀ ========================================= Wow, this guy was so fun to draw although the fur was quite time-consuming! I love his design to pieces. I chose a more yellow sky because I wanted to use complementary colors, like orange/yellow in the sky and the blues in Cobalt. As you can see, I can't draw clouds. :/ The lightning was a fun challenge. I ended up by drawing the white lighting part with my normal pen, then I used a selection for opacity and expand it by 2 pixels for the colored light (used pinks and yellows) around it.
