Three cats looked down into a pool of water, all of their eyes worried. “Yes, I knew he would come.” murmured one of the cats, a brown tabby. The silver cat flicked her tail. “It is up to us to choose one, from each of our clans. Rainstar, we can choose together. Will she do it?” The face of a golden she-cat shone in the pool. “Yes, she is strong. What about you, Dogear?” Rainstar asked. A huge tom with floppy ears and yellow eyes looked down into the pool. “Will he do?” He asked, pointing his paw at the cat, a gray tom with white spots. “He will do. He never really enjoyed his clan.” Both she-cats nodded. A cream-colored she-cat made her way over to the pool. “Sorry I’m late. It took a while to calm down Squeak.” she said. Rainstar and the silver she-cat both nodded. “Understandable, but now it is time to choose.” The cream-colored she-cat looked into the pool. A white kit came up, sleeping next to a gray she-cat. “He will do.” the she-cat said. Rainstar nodded. “He will become an apprentice soon, Cream. A wise choice.” The four cats all nodded in agreement, then one by one, they walked away from the pool, shining clear with stars.
