Another way how its done is that there are handles attached to the wig, the trunchbull actually grabs these handles instead of the actual pigtails. Then there is a blackout, the trunchbull does not throw her into audience, she places amanda down and she runs backstage/the audience. In the original the dummy actually falls into the audience. Amanda kneels down and nobody can see her. But in the US tour, the children actually catch the amanda dummy by their sweaters. The real actress is hiding under the sweaters. Then comes out. The dummy is quickly hidden backstage so no one can see it. But I think Amanda's hairstyle is hard to nail. Two pigtails on the top of her head, and two braided pigtails on the sides of her hair.
