I thought of it and i wanted to share my theory. also there is music so you can click the flag if you want
This isn't exactly a theory seeing how unlikely this is to happen, but this just came to mind and I want to write it down: What if in Breath of the Wild 2, when link is in the cave, the memories of all his past lives come back to him. The weird greenish light also looks a bit like the luminous stones, and in their description, it's said that they are rumored to contain the souls of the dead. What if the greenish swirls, or all fragments of link's soul, and they all flood back into him at once. With all the grief he feels at knowing so many of his friends are dead, and the realization of all the near impossible expectations people have had for him, and the little to no reward when he fullfills them, he starts to feel resentment to the citizens of Hyrule. He has saved so many times before, and what does he get? Mabye a fancy title or weapon, but those don't mean much, do they? When people want something done, they'll ask him to do it for them. Even small tasks like catching a few bugs, or killing a few monsters. Usually the most he'll get is some leftover food as thanks. Because of all the rage and resentment he feels, he may for once not be the hero and protecter of Hyrule, but the villian. He may try to convince Zelda to join him because she too has had unrealistic expectations set for him time and time again. But when she refuses, he's outraged. He may gain some new power, like control over the devine beasts, after all he saved them from the malice, and the champions often speak to them as though the have sentience, and it might be possible that the sheika also gave them artificial intelligence, so they might even willingly side with them. Or he may just cause destruction all over Hyrlue with what he already has. He may also remember all the times he died, and may get reckless, because even if he dies, he'll just come back. We may get to play as Zelda because of this, and in the end she will most likely convince him to see reason once more, or might even find the means to erase his past memories once more.(now I know what your thinking if you saw the trailer.that cant be,'cause ganondorf is gonna be the bad guy,well to that i say,Link can join forces with ganondorf and try to get zelda to join him too,but she refuses and link gets mad,then you play as zelda and fight link for the first boss of the game.now pls think this though,what if the master sword dosnt think link is good anymore and leaves him,then zelda takes the master sword,(cus it told her to) and you play as zelda fighting link. after you "beat" him then he flees and ganondorf turns into malices and flees with Link,then you must play as zelda and return link back to normal and talk some cents into him.) also I think Zelink will be a thing.(please nintendo,we all want it)
