Hey- I thought I'd put something kind of sentimental on here for a change (If you’re not from ‘Merica this probably won’t mean much) Nineteen years ago today, two planes crashed into the twin towers at the National trade center in New York. It was a shocking day for Americans throughout the country. Fear swept the nation. People suffered loss. 2,977 people died. 343 Firefighters. Firefighters who ran straight into the fire. They sacrificed everything to safe complete strangers. Today is September 11th, 2020. It has been a crazy year so far. Like nineteen years ago, no one really saw it coming. Life was normal and then chaos hit. It's leaving us all shocked and confused. Today, massive wildland fires burn on the opposite coast. People are loosing their homes, their towns, their lives. We once again need heroes to step up. These same heroes take a stand. Once again, they run straight into the fire, not looking back. On this day, we honor the heroes of the past, but we can't forget to honor the heroes of the present as well. People are stepping up today, to fight fires, to search for answers in the coronavirus pandemic, teachers are changing their curriculum as they switch to online school, people are reaching out to those who lost their jobs. In times of chaos, we need heroes and we need to honor these heroes for laying it all on the line for everyday people like us. This is something we should Never Forget.
