I have since heard that | apparently using this grid form of reference is... | not considered cheating but just not very good | for actually learning the pose? I've still found it | fairly helpful for understanding details I wouldn't | notice otherwise, though. Anyways. |-- 3: ok yeah this is pretty much the same sketch | moved over on the canvas |-- 4: detailed sketch |-- 5: rough colors in medibang paint |-- 6: final painting (sans rocks) from detailed sketch |and rough colors |--7: with rocks. I'm not sure how I feel about the | rocks, I didn't plan them out very well. 8: Exasperated navia! Not my best work, but fun practice regardless 9 & 10 (different colorings): just some concept art that I started to prove to myself that I could draw fast enough to actually make a webcomic someday maybe. I got through the sketch and lines pretty quick and then spent way too long on the colors and I'm STILL not 100% happy with them (especially the background/sky, which I didn't plan very well.) But it works and I found out somewhat about color flatting which was cool. 11: So for my intro to shader programming class we have this big assignment involving 3D modeling a fruit and the first part of this assignment was just to paint it in 2D from a reference, using a drawing program with layers, and to put each new color/pattern of the fruit (or vegetable, this one's technically a pepper) on a different layer, so we could break it down into different parts a bit easier, and somehow it ended up being the most realistic digital art i've ever done so that was cool. 12: the most recent one; trying out krita (again) after using it a few times for some rough rotoscopy and discovering that there is, in fact, documentation for all that confusing brush stuff! I'm still not 100% comfortable with the interface and I don't know that I'll ever be, but it definitely has its upsides and I really might start using it more often. If I can figure out what brushes to use. Or if it has watercolor/synthetic paint equivalent, which I would expect it to since it has like 20 different brush engines? But I can't find one that works like this basic thing that both Medibang AND Sketchbook have? ...I digress.

Description

Soli Deo Gloria Pose reference on #2 (#1-7) is from SenshiStock on dA; proceed with caution as some of their poses have offensive hand symbols.
