Writing excerpt: The silver snake licked the skin behind the golden hair. A small delicate laugh came out of the girl's mouth. The snake closed its eyes to try to undo the terrible deed its mistress has entrusted it to do, but no action is possible. It sighed so instead, it whispered all of the powerful blessings it had learned from its mistress. But, the deed had to be done. The snake slowly crept onto the light, curved body beside it and looked at the girl. Her soft snoring sent a wave of guilt across the snake but the snake carried on. It slid across her body to her throat and wrapped itself around her neck. Then, it squeezed tightly. A hacking cough came out. It was a miracle she did not wake. The cough came out as a misty substance and wrapped itself around her neck the way the snake did. Finally, the snake released, causing the substance to solidify into a silver ring. The snake hissed and dissolved into a golden liquid, joining the ring at its center. The next day, a scream filled the house.
