Man, this is the third piece of art/project this week. Can you believe it? What has come over me? What is this strange phenomena of having more than one project done in a week? [][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][][] "You wouldn't do that to me, would you?" Mako reached for Zircon before she could react - but didn't push her. The queen's talons held her shoulders stiffly, tears making her eyes all puffy. "After everything, you wouldn't hurt me and try to take the throne like that." The next sentence hadn't sounded like a question, Zircon realized. She drew a sharp breath, staring up at the queen. It seemed real this time. Was it? "That's what I've been trying to tell you all along! I want to take over, someday.. but not.. not like that!" She cried. Maybe if Mako saw the pain for once, she'd realize what she was doing. What she'd done. She'd really want to make it all better. "But you never listen! Why don't you?" "Oh, darling... I've been too worried about other things to listen." Mako brought a talon to stroke the side of her daughter's face, and.. here it came; the apology. "Now, why don't we do something fun for your birthday? We can go out to survey the ocean, look at the stars, have chef make whatever you want. How does that sound?" It was always that; guilt, eagerness to glue everything back together.. and no "I'm sorry"ies, no "You were right"s, and most certainly no "I was wrong"s. Zircon found herself hoping she'd never done to the same to someone else, when a simple sorry was required, not sparing one. She wanted so badly to believe it was sincere. It looked sincere. {In this moment, right now.. It is. It is sincere as she can ever be.} Zircon knew that much was true. This was how Mako apologized. It wasn't like everyone else, but it was all she'd get. Now, was to decide whether or not to take Mako's offer. Zircon had spent the past five years keeping her distance from the queen, but.. Mako had never been one for pre-meditated trouble, and the thought of leaving their problems aside to just.. care about one another for a day was too good to pass up.. "Yes! Yes, I'd love to. I want to go out to the beach, fly over the ocean, everything!" Zircon was still as Mako threw arms around her in a hug, ignoring the strangeness of it.
