Piper stood quietly in the back of the casino, camouflaged amidst the lights and commotion. She discreetly surveyed her surroundings. Her vision bounced from one smiling face to the next. She watched a man put money in a machine and pull the lever. It rolled past many dollar signs and rested on an image of a star. The star meant you lost everything you put in despite the pleasing visual. That was the simple algorithm Wonderland had devised. It didn’t matter what the truth was as long as everyone felt ignorantly content with the outcome. It was all about the smoke and mirrors. People believe what they want to be true when they see something to their liking. The man proceeded to put more money in the machine. Piper’s gaze drifted to four young women sitting at the bar. Not more than two hours ago, Piper heard the blonde one complain about her boyfriend dumping her. Now she was laughing with her friends- and calling the bartender over for another round. Another scheme hidden by pleasure- forgetting. Wonderland was almost isolated from reality. The woman wouldn’t remember her life before she came here and she likely wouldn’t remember her experience while she was here. All there would be was the simple haze of pleasure before the depression returns once she was home again. Finally, Piper spotted her target. A rather standoffish woman with dark hair and a pearl necklace around her neck.The woman hesitantly walked deeper into the casino, her expression beginning to brighten as if entranced by the pulsating lights and music. Piper fingered the cards on the Black Jack table. Carefully she took one and stepped toward the woman. With a swift and silent hand she dropped a card in her bag. The card was a Queen of Hearts and it could only mean one thing. Off with her head. ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ ♡ Yay I finally did it! I've been meaning to make something for this AU but I've just been so busy recently. I'm still incredibly busy but I did it anyway haha. Anyway, here is Piper's design! She goes under the alias "Queen of Hearts" in this. I was going to put that as her name in the little writing blurb above but for March Hare you can use "March" and White Rabbit "Rabbit" but I don't even know what to do with her name haha. Queen? Heart? Of? Haha I don't know but her mask was fun to draw. I wanted to add some annoying club music but I couldn't think of anything so I just put Demon Kitty Rag by Katzenjammer as the background music.
