A note about the purple liquid that appears in this meme frequently - it is not blood. It's Spirit Essence. It is used for a different purpose than transporting oxygen around the body. So, basically, this liquid is what makes a Spirit different to say, some random mortal. It's what gives a Spirit their immortality and omnipotence, and you don't need to keep drinking it and stuff because it's always circulating round their bodies, like...blood. It usually stays in their bodies, though, and can't come out, because if enough of it leaves their bodies, they become mortal. Spirits can't strip another of their Spirit Essence, except Envy. Yeah...it's god juice, not blood.
