(edit as of december 18th, 2023: hey guys, I'm glad so many people find this tutorial helpful! that's all i have to say i guess,, happy arting!) (Outdated as of 5.0.2, but still applies, the workspace is just a lot cleaner) (Thank you everyone for all the nice comments!) (Krita is now available on Android tablets as a beta) -----ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION----- Hello! Welcome to "A Guide to Krita Animation," a (hopefully) simply tutorial on how to animate in Krita! Yes, this has been a long time coming. It was actually supposed to be my celebration for 500, although it's a bit late for that (100+ late hehe). Also, yes, I'm working on my TAG VII project. This was just a little side project to keep me motivated. I've gotten a few requests for a Krita animation tutorial, and while there are plenty of tutorials on youtube, I've yet to find one on scratch. So, here we are! I hope you enjoy! (Yes, I know, I probably missed a few things, but honestly, Krita is really easy to use. It just takes a little fiddling around with.) (Also, I forgot to mention this, but Krita is free.) ________________________ FAQ: Q: Is there any way to sync an animation with audio? A: Yes! Next to where it says "timeline," there's a little speaker icon. If you click it, you can upload audio, allowing you to animate with audio! Q: What are onion skins? A: Onion skins are what they sound like. They let you see the frames before and after. Say you're on frame 2. They let you see frame 1 and 3, which makes it easier to animate since you can see your starting and end point. Q: Krita is having bugs! A: Try restarting your computer. For me, it's not uncommon for pressure sensitivity to just go kaput. Restarting usually fixes the issue ^^ Q: Is Krita available on google chromebooks? A: There is supposedly a beta for Krita on the ChromeOS store. At least, that's what a google search replied with. Q: Is Krita better than Procreate? A: Depends on your situation. If you don't have access to an Ipad, but have a computer, Krita will work just as well as Procreate, and vice versa. Q: (Insert tool) isn't there! What do I do? A: If a certain docker is missing (Or you accidentally get rid of it) you can go to Tools > Dockers > and manually insert it into your workspace :)
