She was probably abandoned by her parents right after birth, because when she opened her eyes, it was only Jade and Mist. Unfortunately, Mist didn't survive when a blizzard hit, and Jade was left alone. Eventually, she was found by the Ocean Tribe, and became a Paw user, because of her natural fighting instinct.
