Ash was a lone dog for a while who learned to fight from his mother, his only traveling companion. After being attacked by badgers, he led his dying mother to Forest Pack's camp. When there, many wolves seemed to recognize her. She had been, apparently, nearly killed by rouges that had chased her many miles away. She had been beta. Ash inherited the role, and now helps lead the pack.
