Instructions

Ssangyong had long been a company known for cars that were cheap, but never for performance or quality. Determined to rid themselves of the 'cheap crap' stigma, the executives at Ssangyong set out to pursue the one thing that defines an enthusiast company: racing history. So when they broke onto the Japanese Super GT scene in 2017, the initial reaction was what you'd expect - people thought it was frankly hilarious that this boring budget crossover would try to take on the big guns in their GT-Rs and NSXs. But underneath, this was indeed a serious piece of kit - a heavily modified and turbocharged version of the Korando's original 150T inline-four sat under the carbon fibre bonnet, now making an absurd 650 brake horsepower. Drivers Daisuke Oozora, Joseph Fraga, and Frederic Isere were all well-respected and quick drivers; it all looked good from the viewpoint of the team itself. But the season for them didn't go as planned. Plagued with engine and gearbox problems, and a general lack of performance, caused a consistent string of disappointing results that landed the only non-Japanese team in GT500 at the tail end of the standings. Shortly after Oozora left due to frustration with the team and its results, Ssangyong pulled out of Super GT after only two years on the grid. In the end, their pursuit of racing did nothing for their brand image or their drivers' careers, but it remains one of the most intriguing entries in the history of sports car racing.

Description

Original base car by LamboRemix, but altered.... quite significantly. New bodywork, reshading, and livery are all by me. There's a blank version of the car inside, in case you want to make your own livery.
