Thanks to Spottedpaw1234 for the open contest and great lineart! Headcanon: Ginger and Smallpaw are the two cats in the picture. Ginger (the orange cat) is an old veteran tough-guy with a sensitive heart from long ago wars, who teaches Bluffpaw (another small gray cat who was his younger sibling) how to find food and survive in the desert. Unfortunately, one day they were outside and Bluffpaw was chasing an insect and fell down a ravine, where he died. Since then, Ginger has mourned the loss of his younger brother. He went through an emotional journey and changed a lot; then, he met a kitten who had gotten abandoned by his owners and was foraging in trash cans. He had the same color of eyes as Bluffpaw, so Ginger thought he was Bluffpaw at first. Ginger didn't like taking care of Smallpaw when he saw him, but Smallpaw always followed Ginger around and he got used to him. Thus, Ginger the cat became friends with the kitten Smallpaw. Smallpaw found in him a companion and Ginger found in Smallpaw a recipient of all of his knowledge. They had a good life, and folks say if the two cats with Ginger and Smallpaw's markings cross your path, they will bring you good luck on your journey.
